Montreal, Quebec – Needless to say, Alex Labbé, driver of the No. 32 Can-Am/Kappa Ford Fusion, is only one mile away from being awarded with the official title of NASCAR Pinty’s series 2017 Champion. By taking the green flag of the Pinty’s Fall Brawl 200 next Saturday at the Jukasa Motor Speedway, Go FAS Racing’s protégé will be crowned after the race, regardless of his position at the end of the event.

With 12 races completed and one last one to come, the team has a lot to be proud of. Crew Chief Mario Gosselin has become the rock holding the group together, which has helped a lot, but if the No. 32 team has been able to collect 5 wins, a 2nd place, a 3rd place, two 4th place and two 5th places this year, it’s because of Alex Labbé’s talent and dedication.

From the first race, the GFR team aimed only one goal, to win the championship. A very important title to value the involvement of its partners, but also for its wheelman. With a championship in the pocket, Alex Labbé’s dream to race in the United States will be more realistic to become a dream come true. But first, the Pinty’s Fall Brawl 200!

“I try not to think about it too much,” explains Labbé. “The pressure was heavy this year, it was a big challenge which I look forward to repeating it in another way. On the other hand, I now have the chance to have fun racing without really focusing on the result. Obviously, I am extremely proud of what we accomplished this season, but we will have the rest of the weekend to celebrate that. My Can-Am team and I have been dominating this year on oval tracks and we will not give that up. We want to win our 6th victory.”

Enthusiasts and Focused to Get More

The team is keen to maintain its good performance and ready to bring a fast car on Saturday, capable of earning a final win. After accumulating 6 victories from 2016 to 2017, the primary vehicle suffered several damages, leaving no choice but to use its backup car for the penultimate race in St-Eustache where Labbé dominated the track. The car will be prepared to race it’s second race of 2017 on the brand new surface of Jukasa Motor Speedway. Alex went on to say, “We did not know what to expect in St-Eustache, it was the first time we took this car out and we could not predict how it would react over 100 laps. We hope that it will be just as dominant on Saturday.”
