Four hours since our last complete update. It is now 08:25 hours ET and the race hasd run 18 hours and 14 minutes - there are 5 hours 45 minutes left to run. We took a break to grab a quick nap in the car but one thing is for sure, the sound the cars are making at 5:00 in themorning - in the dark, is no different than the sound they were making as we made our way back to the media center at 7:30. These drivers are on it all the time. There is no letting up. That is endurance racing and it is filled with a healthy dose of determination mixed with disappointment.
We will post the 18-hour standings by class noting any retirements in red.
The sun is up, the air is chill and we are styill racing.
UPDATE at 04:07 hours ET - 10 hours left to race and we have just gone green after another caution. The Action Express #5 Corvette leads overall and the #4 Corvette leads in GTLM and is 8th overall. The #54 (Calin Braun) leads in LMPC - that car is co-driven by Mark Wilkins. It is 11th overall.
We just came back from a walk around the infield and it is pretty quiet out there. A few diehards in the stands, but fires are waning and you can see people wrapped in blankets, huddled in chairs, or passed out inside their motorhomes. The sky will start to lighten in only a couple of hours and things will start to get interesting.
We have just received a note: The last incident involved the #8 LMPC - Chris Cumming was at the wheel and the report is he was evaluated and released from the infield medical center.
See you in another hour or so. Remember to follow updates at www.twitter.com/RaceCanada_ca
