Montreal, Quebec - Craft-Bamboo Racing drivers Alex Tagliani and Greg Taylor finished third on Saturday to collect their first podium result of the season in Round 7 of the FRD LMP3 (Le Mans Prototype 3) Series held at Zhuhai International Circuit in China. Starting eighth after he qualified the car for this race on Friday, Australian Greg Taylor quickly moved up the field to second place after a racing incident involving some of the leading cars in the first corner of the race. Unfortunately, he went wide in a corner on lap six, losing three spots to fifth place. Taking over at mid-race following the mandatory pit stop, Tagliani came out in third place following a very quick stop by the Craft-Bamboo Racing team.

Canadian driver Alex Tagliani fought hard to keep his number 20 Ligier JS P3 Jackson Storm liveries from the Disney film, Cars 3 in third place despite braking issues near the end of the 50-minute sprint race. He crossed the finish line 11 seconds back from race winners Hiroki Yoshida and James Winslow driving the second Craft-Bamboo Racing entry. Eurasia Team drivers Garnet Patterson and Martin Cao finished second, four seconds ahead of Tagliani.

"It was nice to collect a podium finish after starting from eighth on the grid," Tagliani said. "Greg (Taylor) qualified the car for this race so he drove the first stint and had a mega start after avoiding spinning cars in the first corner of the race as some drivers were very aggressive. He came out of the melee in second place and ran there for a while but went wide in one corner and lost three positions. Greg came into the pits at mid-race still in fifth and I took over. I found myself in third place posting similar lap times as the driver ahead of me in second place despite braking issues. We hope to repeat another podium finish on Sunday and maybe fight for the win because the car is running very strong. The heat is intense here in China and this circuit is really tough on the brakes and tires, so I will make sure on Sunday to give Greg a strong car for the finish when he takes over."

Tagliani and Taylor will be back on track on Sunday at 3:30 p.m., China time (3:30 a.m., EDST) for the eighth and final round of the inaugural Asian FRD LMP3 Series season. Tagliani will take the green flag for Sunday's race, having qualified the Ligier JS P3 in seventh place.
