St. Catharines, Ontario – The Sports Car Championship Canada (SCCC) and Radical Cup Canada (RCC) presented by Michelin will return to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (CTMP) for the 2024 Victoria Day SpeedFest and Labour Day Sprints. Once again the SCCC and RCC will touchdown at these two major events, as the unquestionable home of Canadian racing has hosted both series each season since the inaugural 2021 FEL Motorsports campaign.

Victoria Day SpeedFest will take place May 17-19, 2024 and the Labour Day Sprints August 30 - September 1, 2024. Last year both events hosted roughly 50,000 fans and campers, with attendance expected to increase in 2024. The Labour Day Sprints weekend features the return of the iconic Trans-Am series, the longest running professional road racing series in North America. It will also be accompanied by FR Americas and F4 U.S, setting the stage for one of the largest non-IMSA race weekends at CTMP in many years.

“Returning to Canadian Tire Motorsport Park for the Victoria Day SpeedFest and Labour Day Sprints is a testament to the enduring partnership between the SCCC, RCC, and this iconic racing venue. As the home of Canadian racing, CTMP has been the backdrop for our events since the inaugural 2021 FEL Motorsports season, and we’re thrilled to continue this tradition,” said Chris Bye, President of FEL Motorsports.

Tickets will be available for purchase on the CTMP website in the coming months.

There will be Separate championship and podiums for new RCC class.
By: FEL Motorsports
November 24, 2023

St. Catharines, Ontario – FEL Motorsports is excited to announce a new class for the Radical Cup Canada (RCC) presented by Michelin beginning in 2024. The Masters class is a separate competition within the championship dedicated to the most competitive drivers aged 40 and older.

The RCC has attracted a field of young talent looking to build a career in top-level prototype racing. With this, the ‘pointy-end’ of the RCC field has come to see tight racing and fierce competition with the most recent example being the battle this season between the top three championship candidates; Jake Cowden, Kenny Riedmann, and Gavin Sanders.

The new Masters class is intended to recognize those who may not be competing at the front of the grid overall, but are nonetheless pushing the limits of themselves on-track and winning battles throughout the field.

“Radicals are open-cockpit sports cars with light-weight and high speed. The customers are thrill seekers who, no matter what stage of life, appreciate a fast car and a fun ride,” said series Manager, Jessica Benevides, of the Radical sports car. “The competition is getting more difficult with the rise in talent being attracted to the RCC, and this is about recognizing the skill and commitment of the drivers who already have successful careers that allow them to race.”

Radical Cup Canada drivers age 40 and older will have the option to opt into the Masters championship. The class will have a separate ‘Masters’ podium ceremony, trophies for each race, and separate championship points allocation. Masters class competitors will not be eligible to place on overall podiums and championship standings.

“While the Radical Cup Canada will continue to be a single-make series for the Radical SR3 1340cc chassis, we recognize the need to provide meaningful and exciting competition throughout the field,” said Chris Bye, President of FEL Motorsports. “Sure, the Radical models are an excellent stepping stone for young drivers looking to make a career in prototype racing, but they are just as great of a track toy as they are a development tool,” he concluded.

FEL Motorsports will be releasing the 2024 Radical Cup Canada presented by Michelin schedule in the coming weeks.

Both FEL Motorsports series return to the streets of Toronto in 2024.
By: FEL Motorsport
November 7, 2023

St. Catharines, Ontario – On July 19, 20, and 21, 2024 the Sports Car Championship Canada (SCCC) presented by Michelin, and Radical Cup Canada (RCC) presented by Michelin will once again return to the streets of Toronto alongside the NTT IndyCar series.

This marks the third consecutive season the SCCC will race at the event, with the RCC appearing for a second straight year. The Radical race format will be the same race-within-race format with the Blue Marble Radical Cup North America series. The two Radical championships will race on track at the same time but will only compete for points and positions with the cars of their respective series.

The annual Toronto race weekend at Exhibition Place has been the largest event stop on the SCCC and RCC schedules in past seasons, attracting over 148,000 motorsport enthusiasts, which has played an instrumental role in the growth of the two series. The marquee event has also been a valuable networking opportunity for series and team partners. In 2023, the FEL Motorsports VIP Hospitality suite hosted nearly 200 of FEL’s immediate and extended network including motorsport legends, fans, and sponsors.

“The Honda Indy Toronto is not only a special event in Canadian Motorsports it is also a special event for me personally. I drove in a support race in the very first Molson Indy in 1986 and raced there several times after that. It is awesome to be a part of this exciting race in the heart of Toronto, the vibe in and around the city is great. We look forward to bringing our teams and sponsors back in front of the Toronto fans,” said FEL Motorsports President, Chris Bye.

FEL Motorsports is preparing to release the 2024 schedule in the coming weeks with other exciting news for the new season to come.

Patrick Woods-Toth took home the FIA F4 Championship scoring 4 wins and 14 podiums in 18 races.
By: Motomaster Ron Fellows Karting Championship
November 22, 2023

Bowmanville, Ontario - In his first season of car-racing, Patrick Woods-Toth, the young man from Montréal, Quebec, Canada was crowned champion in the FIA F4 United States Championship (U.S. F4) earlier this month at the Circuit of the Americas.

Woods-Toth’s unlikely journey to become the 2023 driver’s champion started in December of 2022 with a scholarship to the Radford Racing School. As the 2022 Rok Senior Champion in the Motomaster Ron Fellows Karting Championship (MRFKC), Ron and Lynda Fellows selected Patrick to receive the scholarship and the driver made an impact at the school immediately.

At Radford, Patrick got to cut his teeth in the same equipment that is used in F4 U.S. competition, and the driver got comfortable with the car and up to speed very quickly. His impressive performance at the three-day school caught the eye of F4 U.S. Race Director and Canadian racing icon Scott Goodyear, as well as Kiwi Motorsport team owners Garry Orton and Teena Larsen.

After a successful test with the team in Cresson, Texas, the Fellows family was able to promote Woods-Toth to the F4 U.S. series for the first race at NOLA Motorsport Park near New Orleans, Louisiana - where Patrick finished on the podium in all three of the weekend’s races.

Orlando Corporation then stepped up to sponsor Patrick, enabling him to continue his F4 U.S. season ahead of the next race at Road America. It was at the historic track near Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin where young Woods-Toth became a true title contender. After taking his first two wins ever in car racing, Woods-Toth left Wisconsin with a 22-point lead in the championship.

Driving the number 27 car, an iconic number for Canadian racing fans, Woods-Toth notched further race wins at Mid-Ohio and the Circuit of the Americas en-route to becoming the 2023 driver’s champion in F4 U.S. At the wave of the final checkered flag on the 2023 season, the young Canadian was the definition of consistency, scoring 14 podiums in 18 races.

As the champion, Woods-Toth secured a scholarship to compete in the 2024 FR Americas series, which utilizes Formula 3 spec cars. Among other awards given to the champion, Patrick also received an invitation to the FIA Prize Giving Ceremony at the conclusion of the 2023 Formula 1 season. In addition, he also receives valuable FIA Super Licence points.

“This really is a world-class series, and I feel very thankful and lucky to have taken part in it,” Woods-Toth said at the F4 U.S. awards ceremony.

“Coming into this season, I didn't even know that I was going to be racing cars. So, to be up here with this trophy and this amazing accomplishment is unbelievable - it's been a roller coaster, to say the least. Thanks to Ron Fellows and Lynda Fellows, I got to do my first race. And you know, I thought that was going to be it, but Orlando came on with Carlo Fidani and he let us carry on with the whole season. The whole team has just been working so hard between all the races and every event to get a great result. To be standing here is surreal. I don't have many things to say. Just thank you to everyone; this is an amazing accomplishment for all of us.”

After such an impressive season, Woods-Toth has no doubt garnered attention from the motorsport scouts of the world. But Patrick has proved himself as a racing driver and is undoubtedly ready to take the next step, whatever that may be.

At the end of the 2023 MRFKC season, the series was able to select another driver for the Karts to Cars F4 initiative. It was awarded again to the Rok Senior champion, and this season that was Nolan Bower of Whitby, Ontario. Like Patrick, Nolan will attend the Radford Racing School later this year, and get to grips with an F4 car for the first time. The MRFKC remains committed to developing Canada’s young racers, with the transition of karting to cars being one of the most important steps for a driver.

About MRFKC

The Motomaster Ron Fellows Karting Championship is a competitive racing series designed to showcase youth-based kart racing in a professional-like environment. The series goal is to help create a positive, fun, and fair competitive environment to foster the progression of young drivers. With proper conduct, discipline and appearance, MRFKC is committed to helping shape the future of Canadian motorsport. The series is operated by Ron and Lynda Fellows and is sanctioned as a National Competition Series by GDS ASN Canada FIA.
